As you guys already know, there is always something great going on in the mountains, especially during the beautiful holiday season. Today, I would like to begin a short series of 10 ideas of fun things to do in the North Georgia mountains this 2013 holiday season! The first idea is to head out to Blue Ridge on Thanksgiving Day and enjoy the annual Turkey Trot!
The turkey trot is a fabulous family event that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all abilities! You will see good athletes, moms and dad’s pushing babies in strollers, elderly individuals, young kids and even doggies! It is just a great way to all be together and kick off Thanksgiving day in a great fun way! You can walk, jog or run – whatever you prefer. The cost of the registration is $17 per person. The funds raised from this event will be donated to various charities in the area. Another great way to have fun and give to others!
Please also come with a canned good to be donated to the food pantry and be there and ready to trot by 8am! It is a 5K walk/race. Register on the website or if you register the day of, please be there by 7. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy trotting! Enjoy!
