Well this will complete my series on holiday fun in the North Georgia Mountains…however, can that really ever be completed? No, because more ideas will continue to pop up because fun in the mountains in really never ending. Remember a while back I said we like to celebrate everything in the mountains? Well…the holidays are no exception! If you missed my last suggestion, check it out here.
When I was writing about fall ideas, I mentioned Union County’s Southern Tree Plantation. Well, this is also a fabulous idea for the holidays!!! How about making a day of it with the family and going to pick out that very special Christmas tree! They will have Christmas tree sales up until December 23rd. There are a variety to choose from including Colorodo Blue Spruce, White Pine, Fraser Fir, Balam Fir, and White spruce. There are saws available to cut your own tree or if you’re not feeling quite as adventurous, you can choose an already cut tree from their “holiday barn.”
To come here you don’t even have to get a tree! You can just enjoy all the fun activities they have including hayrides, plantation animals, a wooden maze, train rides, pony rides, marshmellow roastings, a barnyard playground and much more. The great news is each activity is $5 or you can do all activities for A$10. Pretty afordable for a day of fun for the family. So, come on out to beautiful Blairsville to enjoy a great day with the family! Can’t think of much better to get in the holiday spirit!!
