20 Fall Fun Ideas in the North Georgia Mountains – #5

paws-in-parkThis week the heat has picked up in Georgia, including the mountains but it has been dry and sunny!  Soon, this weather will change to the crisp fall air and beautiful varieties of leaf colors will pop up all over the  North Georgia Mountains.  Don’t miss experiencing the mountains this fall and enjoying so many fun activities.

My 5th idea for fall fun is for all of those pet owners or furry animal lovers out there!  Paws in the Park will be held in downtown Blue Ridge on October 19th.  If you have never attended this event, you are in for a treat!  Last year was a total blast watching tiny dogs, huge dogs that resembled horses as well as Llamas!

The event will be held from 10 to 2 and begins with a parade that you and your pet can enjoy together!  You know you love showing off your pride and joy in an adorable outfit! This event also includes pet education and demonstrations, rabies clinic, micro-chipping, contests, prizes, photos with your pet, and much more!!! It is sponsored by the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association and the awesome downtown store called “Love Dogs and Cats Too.”

If you are a runner, come participate in the 5k race that is before the pet parade.  Entry fee is $25.  You can sign up here.  So…whose looking forward to fall?  I know I am!
