20 Fall Fun North Georgia Mountain Ideas – #9

fall-at-cartecayOne of the specialties of the North Georgia Mountains is the fact that they are home to some beautiful wineries.  The Southern Appalachians in North Georgia are ideal for growing wine grapes. The elevation, the soil and the climate combine to produce wine grapes of the highest quality and subsequently, fine wines.  My #8 fall idea is to at least visit one of these vineyards.

Some of the wineries include Cartecay Vineyards in Ellijay, Hightower Creek Vineyards in Hiawassee,  Crane Creek Vineyards in Young Harris, and Serenberry Vineyards in Morganton.

At these vineyards there is usually always something fun happening!  Many of these vineyards have tasting rooms and live music.  It is a great date night!  Not to mention, Crane Creek will be hosting a Harvest Festival on October 26th which will be full of a great time.  They also host tapas nights on Friday evenings as well.  Soup Saturdays are held often at Hightower Creek.

Whether you are a connoisseur of wine or not, it is a learning experience to see how wine is made or to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of these vineyards.  They also host weddings and other events so if you have something coming up like this, it could be a great consideration for you!  Hope you enjoy the beauty of at least one if not all of these fabulous vineyards!
