20 Summer Fun Ideas in the North Georgia Mountains – #2

The Mountain Life Team Blogger June 6, 2013

train-3Today I am writing about my second top 20 ideas of summer fun in the North Georgia Mountains.  They are in no particular order of what I think is best, just wanting to share so many fabulous fun family ideas on various ways to enjoy your visit in the mountains.   In case you missed my first article the other day, click on this to read about it.

If you have never been on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, this summer you must take the opportunity to explore this fun event!  The train winds alongside the beautiful Toccoa River with one stop in the twin border towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee.  The trips are an hour each way with a two hour visit in the quaint area of McCaysville to shop, eat and enjoy!  What I love about the summer is that they are doing a twilight trip every Saturday in June and July from 4 to 8pm.  This is a great way to spend a summer evening in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Also, make plans for father’s day on Sunday June 16th because fathers are getting to ride for free with one paid child!  What a fun way for the kids to spend time with dad!  You must get your reservations early and can do so through the railway website!

While you are here, I have a feeling you may fall in love with Blue Ridge as well as McCaysville!  At The Mountain Life Team team, we can show you some dream homes in these areas as well as other surrounding North Georgia Mountain towns!
