I’m almost halfway through my series of writing about summer fun ideas in the North Georgia Mountains! However, I do feel like I could go on and on as more things pop in my head about all the fun that is to be had in this beautiful Georgia area! Have you ever had the opportunity to visit Cartecay Vineyards located in Ellijay?
Being located on 13 acres in the Southern Appalachians, this area is ideal for growing wine grapes. What a great summer escape to visit a beautiful area, sip on a variety of fine tasting wines and be able to enjoy a nice atmosphere. At Cartecay, they believe in having fun by hosting many outdoor live music events. In fact, this weekend, June 22nd, there will be live music on their patio with Barefoot Boone. For $13 you can be entertained, enjoy 5 different wine tastings and receive a Cartecay Vineyards Logo wine glass.
After you visit the vineyards, I have a feeling you will want to come back for various events throughout the year including their fall grape harvest festival where you can stomp the grapes! Cartecay is a very popular vineyard but the North Georgia Mountains are home to other awesome vineyards as well including, Crane Creek Vineyards, Hightower Vineyards, and Serenberry Vineyards. Enjoy yourself and once again…happy summer!
