I have always been impressed with people who have a wonderful art ability…especially if they are young children! Blue Ridge in the North Georgia Mountains is a very cultural town that enjoys spreading the enjoyment of the arts and sharing it with children. March 5th, from 4 to 6pm, is an opening reception at The Art Center that is free for all to come and view a variety of art that has been produced by children in the local mountain area.
If you are unable to attend on the 5th, all of the art will stay displayed until March 28th. As a girl scout leader of fourth grade girls in Blue Ridge, I had the privilege of helping my troop achieve the drawing badge. After speaking with the marketing director at the art center to see if there was someone to help me, I kindly was contacted by an artist who donated her time to help my girls achieve their badge! Now, their work will be displayed at this reception and throughout the month of March at the center.
Also, throughout the summer, there are a variety of inexpensive art classes that your children can participate in. So, if you are vacationing in the mountains, live here full time or have your grandchildren that come to stay with you, check out what all this great facility has to offer. Your kids will have a great time learning anything from working with clay, to drawing landscapes and a variety of other art skills.
