wine-valentinesWith all the snow trapped on the ground, it may be hard getting past thinking of even getting out of the house, much less Valentines.  However, it will be here before we know it and all the snow will melt and it will be time for you to melt your sweeties heart by planning a nice date for the two of you.  Check out my number one and two ideas if you missed them.  Today’s idea, number 3 is to head to one of the many beautiful wineries that encompass North Georgia.

The first is Ellijay’s beautiful Cartecay Vineyards located in the eastern part of Gilmer County.  On February 14th from 5:30 to 8:30, you can enjoy the sounds of Barefoot Boone as you sip on wine in the vineyards Nealy Barn.  It will truly  give you a sense of being in the mountains! For $20 a person or $30 a couple, not only can you get a great atmosphere and enjoy some awesome music, but you will receive a 12 ounce glass of wine (glass is yours to keep), a chocolate cup filled with Chambourcin wine and light hor d’oeuvres.

Hightower Creek Vineyards, located 7 miles east of Hiawassee, is another great vineyard choice.  Valentines weekend from noon to 5, you can enjoy wine, chocolate and beautiful roses for the lady.  On that Saturday, same hours there will be Italian Wedding Soup, chocolate covered strawberries, and roses for the ladies. $10.00 per person and includes a glass of wine!

Last but not least, Crane Creek Vineyards, nestled 3 miles north of the quaint Young Harris town, will be hosting a fun valentines evening from 6 to 9 on the 14th as well.  You can enjoy dinner, wine and live music by Austin Adams.

I believe you will enjoy time spent at any of these vineyards.  While you are here, rent a beautiful cabin and enjoy the beauty and peace of the mountains.  Call us at The Mountain Life Team to have one of our agents show you all that is available and how you too could enjoy the mountain life on a more regular basis.
