5 Ideas to Celebrate Valentines in the North Georgia Mountains – #5

smokey-mountain-center-300x130Well, the list could go on and on about all the fun you could have in the mountains of North Georgia but I guess the ideas must stop at some point!  How about livening up your valentines evening with some fun music and a great show.  The Smokey Mountain Center of Performing Arts will be hosting Bennie Anderson and The Drifters with the Sock Hops.

Bennie sings lead and second tenor harmonies and has been an integral part of the group’s overall sound for more than four decades. He had the pleasure of singing with original members that started in 1953 such as Gay Thasher and Bill Pickney. Born in West Point, Georgia, Bennie moved to Atlanta at an early age where he currently resides. He enjoys song writing, a challenging game of basketball, and singing gospel songs while playing the piano.  This would be a great treat to see!

Another idea to enjoy if you are staying closer to Blue Ridge is to see Lost In Yonkers playing at Blue Ridge Community Theater.  So how about adding a little artsy culture to your valentines this year and enjoy some excellent shows!  Not to mention all the  awesome restaurants that will be serving a Valentines dinner near both locations.  If you need some suggestions as to where to eat, shoot me a message.  I will be glad to help!  HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
