This Saturday, March 16th, make plans to visit The Craddock Center, located in Epworth, Georgia for the 9th annual Helen Lewis Appalachian Celebration. Dr. Helen Lewis is a famed and fiery Appalachian Anthropologist whom is a Georgia Native. In 2005, The Craddock Center board began an annual lecture to honor Dr. Helen Lewis and focus on various aspects of Appalachian life.
The goal of Dr Lewis and The Craddock Center is to enrich the lives of the people of Southern Appalachia through programs of education, cultural enhancement, service, and encouraging communities, families, and children to advance educationally, socially, and spiritually.
If you have an interest in this or to help with this non-profit center that does such fabulous work, consider attending this event. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the Bonnie Higdon Reaves Auditorium. Presenter will be George Ella Lyon, Children’s Book Author, Teacher and Writer. Music will be provided by Deborah Thompson from Berea, KY. One more thing…this is a FREE event.
