Apples, & Pumpkins, & Sorghum, Oh My!

Looking to carve out time for fun this fall season?  Then, check out a few of our ideas!

Give ‘em pumpkin to talk about!  How about some pumpkin patch fun?  Head over the mountains to Dawsonville for an afternoon of pumpkin picking, hayrides, and memory making.   Burt’s Farm has been a cherished family tradition for many years.   Check them out at:

Take the kids or grandkids to Mercier’s Orchards for an afternoon of apple picking fun.  The largest apple orchard in the southeast was named by Southern Living Magazine as their “favorite roadside apple market.”  For apple picking days and times, go to:

Did you know that Blairsville has our very own corn maze this year?  Organized by the non-profit, Change in Our World, Inc., the maze is open September 27th through November 10th.   The cost is $10 person and kids 3 and under are free.  For more info go to:

Mark your calendars to celebrate the 50th year of the Blairsville Sorghum Festival in Meeks Park on October 12-13 and 19-20.  Maybe you’ll get a hankering to enter the biscuit eatin’ contest or perhaps take a turn at climbing the greased pole.  There’s guaranteed fun for everyone at this two-weekend festival!  Get all the details here:

You’re the apple of my eye!  Another fall festival favorite is the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay.  There are over 300 vendors with handmade items as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made.  Held on the second and third weekends in October at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds,  additional information can be found at:

Trick or Treat!  Join folks from all over Union County at Halloween on the Square in Downtown Blairsville on October 31st from 6-8 pm. Make sure you stop by and see us at our booth! For more info, please go to:
