In North Georgia – there are many festivals that are enjoyed by many people who are looking to experience the culture and heritage of these Blue Ridge Mountains. One of the most popular festivals is held in Blairsville, Georgia and has been a traditional for more than 40 years – The Sorghum Festival. Many people from all over the Southeast travel to enjoy our festival – it’s held the 2nd & 3rd Weekend in October (11th & 12th/18th & 19th) and admission is 13 & up-$4, 12 & under – Free. While attending the festival – you can see the syrup actually making from grinding the cane to cooking the Sorghum into that fine syrup. The taste is amazing on biscuits, pancakes, rolls or just about anything. There’s also many arts, crafts, exhibits, food, music, square dancing, biskit eating, pole climbing, log sawing, rock throwing & so much more.
