Atomic Adventure Race in Blue Ridge – May 18th

The Mountain Life Team Blogger April 29, 2013

atomic-adventure-2013The sport of adventure racing has no doubt become extremely popular over the last several years.  The North Georgia Mountains seems to be among some of the favorite spots to host these races.   Adventure racing is one of the few sports where just completing a race is often considered a victory. Another driving factor in adventure racing is the emphasis that is placed on teamwork, rather than individual achievement.

If you are highly adventurous, register for the 2nd annual Atomic Adventure Race that will be held in Blue Ridge on May 18th and is sponsored by Pangea Adventuring Racing from Florida.  This year the racers will meet in downtown Blue Ridge.  The starting point for this race is to be a secret and the racers will be bused to the starting destination.  There will be a 30 hour elite race on Saturday (yes, I said 30 hours) and a 5 hour sport race. (on Sunday the 19th).

So, even if you are not in the race, these are very exciting events to watch.  Come support these amazing athletes and enjoy a great time in the beautiful town of Blue Ridge.  There are plenty of fabulous shops such as The Owls Nest or Blush 809, as well as restaurants like Cantaberry or Harvest on Main.
