Benton MacKaye Guided Hikes! – Third Saturday of Each Month!

hiking2Living in Blue Ridge, I often get asked what are some great trails to hike in the mountains?  Well, you can never go wrong with the Benton MacKaye Trail!  Maybe you are new at hiking and would really enjoy a hike with a trail guide.  If this sounds like you, check out the website of the Benton MacKaye Trail Association.  Every third Saturday of each month, they hike a different section of the trail.  (weather depending).

The Benton MacKaye Trail (BMT) is a footpath of nearly 300 miles (480 km) through the Appalachian mountains of the southeastern United States. It is designed for foot travel in the tradition of the Appalachian Trail (AT). Running from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Davenport Gap on the northern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (the Smokies), the BMT passes through some of the most remote backcountry in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina, including eight federally designated Wilderness and Wilderness Study Areas.

This is such a great way to enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the mountain areas and have some true quality family time.  While you are visiting here, please call us at The Mountain Life Team to show you some beautiful cabins that could be yours in the North Georgia Mountains.  Then, you can hike anytime you want if you live here!  Enjoy!
