If you’re like me, planning our ideas within our busy schedule is the only way we can make things happen. So plan & prepare & be the Christmas morning hero…2nd place to Santa that is.
How does yummy red velvet pancakes sound to top off the Christmas morn? Think about how scrumptous these will be after you’ve worked up a fierce appetite opening all those Christmas gifts. 10 cups all purpose flour
1-1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup baking cocoa
6 teaspoons baking soda
4 teaspoons baking powder
5 teasppns salt
Additional Ingredients for each batch
2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons red food coloring
Syrup of your choice
1. In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Place 2 cups in each of 5 resealable plastic bags or containers. Store in acool dry place for up to 6 months. Yield: 5 batches (10 cups mix)
2. To Prepare Pancakes: Pour mix into a large bowl. In a small bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs & food coloring, stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
3. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles form on top. Cook until second side is golden brown. Serve with cool whip & any kind of berries you like OR just butter & syrup of your choice. Be creative & have create a santa beard or hat! Use your imagination to create the best Christmas breakfast dish ever!
