Several months back, I wrote about the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center located in the North Georgia Mountain town of Blairsville. On Saturday, June 8th from 10 to 1, there will be a FREE tour of the various gardens at the center. This is a great way to get the children out and learn about nature this summer!
There will be guided tours of the Ethnobotanic Garden, Herb Garden and Medicine Trail. You can view many nature inspired arts and crafts displays and demonstrations. There will also be edible and medicinal plant demonstrations. Tours of the historic Community Cannery and Native Plant Interpretive Center will be given as well.
I think you will not only enjoy the tour but you will learn a lot about the research center and all the wonderful and worthwhile things they do. While you are in the area, call The Mountain Life Team to show you a variety of homes, cabins and property in Blairsville and other surrounding areas.
