Insulating-Basement-Walls-300x197New Construction Homes are really starting to ignite here in the North Georgia Mountains. As a matter of fact, homes and cabins that have sold in Fannin County in and around Blue Ridge GA over the past 6 months have sold at 98% of original list price averaging less than 90 days on market. The average sold price for cabins sold in Blue Ridge Georgia for that same time frame was $329,413. It is really good to see that New Construction is really starting to pick back up, as I believe this will really stimulate the overall economy in our Georgia Mountain Towns and Communities.

I have closed on 2 new construction cabins in Blue Ridge GA in January. Both cabins were inspected by a local certified home inspector, and both cabins were not in compliance with the Georgia Energy Conservation Codes. Buyers need to be aware that most of our County Building Inspectors are not enforcing some state codes on a local or county level, because those inspections are not necessary to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy. This however should not give our contractors a right to cut corners whether it be knowing or unknowingly.
