hometown-halloween-300x189Who’s ready for safe & fun Trick or Treating event?  One of the luxuries of living in the North Georgia Mountains is experiencing the small-town culture that our community has.  A sence of home where everyone knows your name – right? Well, Blairsville’s Hometown Halloween 2014 is part of that culture.  We invite you to visit the high-country of North Georgia & stop by – Hometown Halloween is Friday, October 31st from 6pm – 8pm.  What’s is this – you might ask?  This is the time when the local businesses, organizations, churches and any groups celebrate Halloween by giving a special treat to whoever stops by their tents on the square in downtown Blairsville.  Many bring festive decore to display outside as well as free candy, children’s games, photo opportunities, and plenty of old- fashion fun.  Also, many of the nearby restaurants stay open to serve hot chocolate, coffee, and apple cider.  It’s a wonderful celebration where kids & parents alike get their fill of Halloween festivities.

For Hometown Halloween, the square is closed to automobile traffic. (Please see map of detours.) It’s one night of the year that folks can run around in the streets. See you at Hometown Halloween on the Square!
