Lake Nottely in North East Georgia is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s actually a reservoir on the southeastern edge of the Tennessee River watershed, amid the mountains and valleys of the Chattahoochee National Forest and borders North Carolina. It’s managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The Nottely Dam, on Lake Nottely was built during WW II and is a hydroelectric facility with a generating capacity of 18 megawats of electricity for use by surrounding communities.
Lake Nottely is surrounded by the amazing Blue Ridge Mountains and is known for laid-back fishing, boating and camping but not over-populated like some lakes in the North Georgia area.
