Who ever would have thought there would be so much excitement about one of Gods first created fruits??? Apples, apples and more apples!! Running in conjunction with the famous Apple Festival, Apple Arts on the Square is another festival that you can attend. For two weekends, beginning this Saturday, you can visit this festival from 9 to 5.
Apple Arts gives you the opportunity to get locally grown apples, shop local artisans and other great vendors; as well as the variety of retail stores located downtown. Grab a hot dog, some boiled peanuts, or a barbeque sandwich from one of the local vendors, or you can enjoy a great dining experience at one of Ellijay’s downtown restaurants, such as Cantaberry!
There is no admission and free parking for Apple Arts. There will be shuttles running from downtown to the Apple Festival, so you can visit both festivals. Something new that has been added this year will be the Pumpkin Patch provided by Red Apple Barn in front of the Watkins House. Visitors will be able to buy pumpkins at the festival. Two of Ellijay’s local Apple Orchards will be selling items at the festival- Red Apple Barn and BJ Reece.
