Mother’s Day is a well-deserved holiday honoring mothers – young and old. It’s celebrated differently around the world but the American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 but didn’t become an official holiday in the U.S. until 1914. Unfortunately, after the commercialization of the event, Jarvis, later tried to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May and traditionally involves presenting mothers with flowers, cards, gifts and time together. This Mother’s Day, we invite you to spend Mother’s Day in the North Georgia Mountains. She will be surrounded by beautiful scenic wonders of mountains, rivers and lakes and lots of shopping as well as incredible food. What more could she ask for? She would love to spend the weekend in a mountain view cabin in one of the communities and relax and unwind. Check out some of the below things to do here in North Georgia Mountains!
