Peaceful and serene is how I would describe the Henson Cove Place Bed and Breakfast located in the beautiful town of Hiawassee in the North Georgia Mountains. Located on 1.6 acres, this 1940’s style farmhouse is surrounded by pasture, mountain views and two bubbling creeks. On this same property not far from the Bed and Breakfast, there is also a cabin that sleeps up to 6 people and is pet and small child friendly.
Each morning of your stay, owners Mariah and Dave Nugent will fix a gourmet breakfast on a 1929 Tappan gas stove! Coffee will begin at 7:30 for those that like to get up and enjoy the fresh morning air. Perhaps you can enjoy it on the front porch swings or one of their rockers that are available. There is also a library located in this beautiful mountain home as well as satellite/DVD in the living area of the home. On some of the Saturday evenings, you can enjoy hor’douvres and happy hour. If you stay at the cabin on the property, you can enjoy this happy hour as well.
One of the neatest things I found out about this beautiful property is that the largest white pine tree that is over 110 years old is on this land. There is also a beautiful garden that in spring you will see a variety of colorful flowers.
If you are looking to get away from it all, I would suggest giving this bed and breakfast a try! It is also located only 5 minutes away from the North Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds and 15 minutes from the highest mountain peak in Georgia known as Brasstown Bald.
