I love when spring hits the and all the festivals begin to pop up in various parts of the North Georgia Mountains. Make plans to come up the weekend of April 20th and you can go festival hopping! All three of the following events will take place that weekend!
***Rhododendron Festival – Blooming of the Rhododendron at Hamilton Gardens. The yearly tradition of strolling through the magnificent and rare beauty of over 400 rhododendrons in an explosion of colors and varieties has just been made even more wondrous — the Rhododendron Festival is coming back to the Hamilton Gardens! Arts and craft vendors will the there as well as there will be a variety of plants for sale.
***Bear on the Square Mountain Music & Folk Art Festival – The 17th annual Bear on the Square Mountain a highly entertaining and lively weekend of music and art held in and around the town’s Historic Public Square. Pre-festival events will occur on Friday, April 19, with the beginning of jamming on the Square, as well as Master Class Workshops in the afternoon, and the Live Country Auction that night. On Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, there will be free admission on-stage performances by local, regional, and national musicians throughout the day in the MainStage Tent at Hancock Park with a heavy emphasis on bluegrass and old-time music from the Southern Appalachian region. A juried Artist Marketplace on Saturday and Sunday features traditional mountain crafts, and there will also be a Country Store. Many kids activities.
***Blue Ridge Spring Fest – 9th annual arts and crafts sale from 9 to 5 p.m. 40 plus vendors selling items such as pottery, wood carvings, quilts, canned goods and much more. Live entertainment and food. Free admission and the event is sponsored by Fannin County Explorer Post 401. To be held at the Blue Ridge Farmers Market.
