Winter Fun! – Outdoor Ice Skating – Downtown Blue Ridge

The Mountain Life Team Blogger November 26, 2012

The feeling of winter and Christmas was definitely in the air this past weekend as I watched all the people bundle up and ice skate at the new outdoor ice rink in Blue Ridge.   The smile amongst my kid’s faces was a sure sign that they thought it was tons of fun even though they fell plenty of times!  If you are visiting in the North Georgia Mountains over the winter season, this would be a fun family outing to enjoy.

Open from now until February 18th, for $10 (which includes the skates) you can enjoy this new attraction to Blue Ridge.  The hours on the weekends will be from 10 am to 10 pm, and during the week, you can take your kids after school beginning at 3pm.  This is a great way to expend kids energy and for them to get some good exercise!

The Dairy Queen stand next to the rink was a nice touch this past weekend with snacks and especially hot chocolate and coffee.  My kids were exhausted when finished but each told me what a fantastic time they had…Always great to make memories!  Bring your family to enjoy the skating and then head shopping at some of the great downtown shops such as Blush 809 or The Owls Nest.  After making your Christmas purchases, you could eat a wonderful dinner at Serenity Gardens.  Enjoy and stay warm!
