Wooded land in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just north of Ellijay in Gilmer County, Georgia. This is Blue Ridge country - hardwood ridges folding back on each other, hemlock and white pine in the coves, and mist sitting low in the valleys most mornings. The Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers meet at the county seat to form the Coosawattee River, while the Chattahoochee National Forest covers much of the surrounding high ground. Gilmer County has a long history of apple growing, with Ellijay known for its annual apple celebrations and mountain scenery. Fall is the season up here, with the ridges turning through late October and the air cooling early. Hold it as an investment, keep it for the years ahead, or simply own a piece of Georgia with your name on the deed.
