Rebecca was born in LaGrange, GA, and grew up in Fayetteville, GA. She attended LaGrange College and earned a BA and Master's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She also attended Samford University and earned an Education Specialist and Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership.

Rebecca worked in the education field as a classroom teacher for 17 years, as an Assistant Principal for 8 years, as a Principal for 10 years, and as a Central Office Administrator in Federal Programs for 5 years before retiring in 2022.

Her family vacationed in Blairsville for many years since the early 2000s so she was familiar with our amazing town before moving here. She and her husband both agreed that it would be wonderful to one day retire up here in the mountains. And since their children started having children of their own, Rebecca and her husband wanted to be closer to their grandchildren so they found a place here and were able to move here the spring of 2022 after Rebecca retired.

While enjoying her new-found time off, Rebecca wanted to keep moving and continue to challenge herself to learn and grow so she decided pursue a position outside of the education field. She learned of her current role through a friend of one of our agent’s dad.

Rebecca and her husband have been married for over 40 years and have 3 children: Megan, Thomas, and Mackenzie. They also have 5 grandchildren: John Thomas, Gracie Marie, Wesley, Lily Jane, and Brynn.

In her time spent outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, gardening (canning and freezing), and reading.
