One of the best juried arts and crafts shows in the Southeast is the Butternut Creek Art Festival. 80 to 85 artists and craftspeople exhibit their work during the course of the two-day festival, in disciplines ranging from basketry, candles and soap, fine art, fabric art, and ornamental painting to glass, jewelry, metal works, photography, ceramics, scrimshaw, and woodturning. Annually held on the third weekend in July, festival hours are Saturday, July 15th from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, July 16th from 10 AM to 4 PM in Meeks Park in Blairsville, GA. Free parking is available, and a shuttle runs from the parking lots to the concert location.
The family-friendly Festival draws in crowds totaling 10,000 - 14,000 each summer as 80 to 85 artists and artisans share and sell their creations with the public against the backdrop of Butternut Creek which runs through Meeks Park. In addition to beautiful handmade artwork on display and for sale, visitors can also enjoy musical entertainment, live artistic performances, and lots of delicious food.
