Spring has revived not only the landscape but also our sense of adventure to get outside and enjoy everything our communities have to offer! To that end, we've curated a list of our favorite mountain events happening here in the north Georgia mountains. Check it out!

10th annual Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival
Friday, April 12, 2024 - Saturday, April 13, 2024

The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge, 3499 US-76, Young Harris, GA
The 10th annual Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival will feature storytelling and musical performances, activities for children, a quilt exhibition, and workshops. This event aims to educate community members, distant visitors, and learners of all ages about the tradition and history of our region through storytelling, while also encouraging them to participate and share their own stories.
Fees/Tickets
Free tickets for students 18 and under, teachers bringing classes, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with low income.
General admission: $20/day or $35 for two days; Discounts available for senior citizens and military personnel (active duty or retired)

Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Hiawassee, 1311 Music Hall Rd, Hiawassee, GA
Experience a day amidst the breathtaking scenery of Hiawassee, featuring the enchanting Hamilton Gardens. This captivating botanical garden showcases a variety of native wildflowers such as trilliums, shooting stars, and trout lilies, along with over 1,500 rhododendrons and native azaleas, constituting the largest collection in the Southeast!
Enjoy exploring the gardens during peak bloom time, celebrating beautiful native flowers. Savor live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, a plant sale, daily seminars, and more!
Fees/Tickets
Festival admission is free, and a $6 donation grants access to tour the gardens.
Spring in the Mountains Marketplace

Come and enjoy local crafters, distinct vendors, small enterprises, and food trucks in the north GA mountains! If you cherished the Christmas in the Mountains Marketplace, this event will captivate you as well! Embrace the Spring vibes and patronize local businesses. Discover handmade jewelry, apparel, woodworking creations, home decor, candles, delectable treats, and much more! Swag bags are being handed out to the first 100 attendees.

Admission is $1 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Union Co. School's FFA Chapter & The Isaiah 117 House.

Come and enjoy Blairsville’s Spring Downtown Market! Explore offerings from over 25 local artists showcasing quality, hand-crafted goods, accompanied by live music and delicious food!
Later in the afternoon, don't miss the first Cruise-In on the Square Car Show, featuring a diverse array of classic cars, trucks, muscle cars, tricked-out vehicles, and rare models.

Georgia Mountain Needle Arts Festival

Blue Ridge Trout & Outdoor Adventures Festival

The 7th Annual Blue Ridge Trout and Outdoor Adventure Festival offers a variety of family-friendly activities and outdoor adventures that highlight why Blue Ridge is the Trout Capital of Georgia. Rain or shine, the event is held in beautiful downtown Blue Ridge City Park, close to a wide range of dining options.

Georgia Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival

The Georgia Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival brings together ceramic cooking enthusiasts and seasoned chefs from across the U.S. and Canada. Throughout the event, these skilled cooks will demonstrate their expertise by preparing their signature recipes.
Meanwhile, attendees who prefer tasting over cooking can leisurely wander through the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, sampling a variety of delectable culinary creations while engaging in conversation with the cooks to learn more about their recipes and techniques.

Taster tickets are $30 per person.
62nd Annual Mountain Laurel Festival

9 am - 4 pm; The Lion’s Club parade is at 10 am
Downtown Clarkesville, GA
Habersham County’s longest-running festival, the 62nd Annual Mountain Laurel Festival will be held downtown and offers food, arts & crafts vendors, and live music. A food court will be available at the historic Mauldin House (458 Jefferson St, Clarkesville, GA) while nearby Pitts Park will be transformed into a kid’s fun zone. Pitts Park will also host a car show.

Spring Arts, Crafts & Music Festival

Annual Spring Arts in the Park

This juried art festival is one of the area’s finest and features 175 local and regional arts and crafts exhibitors, food stands, and local organizations. Enjoy free artist demonstrations, face painting, and of course the playground. Held rain or shine, this event is perfect for the entire family—and well-behaved pets on leashes.
The Arts in the Park festival series supports the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts council providing opportunities in the realm of the arts for the individual and serving as a catalyst for arts and economic development in our community.

Georgia Apple Blossom Festival

Offering music, arts, crafts, food, and fun for the whole family, this event never disappoints! The juried art show consists of over 70 local and regional artists. Kids will have a blast with FREE activities including rock wall climbing and bounce houses. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. Owners are required to clean up after their pets.

Immerse yourself in a taste of Bavaria during Helen, GA’s Memorial Day weekend celebration at the Festhalle! Bring your family and friends for a lively event featuring a live Oompa band and traditional dancing, setting the stage for an authentic Bavarian experience.
